Michelle Riemer is a visual artist and art therapist. In her works she uses form and colour in abstract painting and sculpture to work with various sensations and inner psychological contexts. The artistic practice deals with the question ofhow connections arise, intensify and dissolve again. Coloured surfaces and shapes are placed intuitively, interlocking and deliberately losing their stability. The work is understood as an open process in which structure is not fixed but constantly changing. The works invite us to encounter this state of in-between and to understand the fragility of order as part of both the image and our thinking. In this in-between her work is searching for recurring dream symbols and translated into a real context, creating a link between the unconscious and tangible reality. The artistic pracitice explores the same shifting
processes of connection, instability, and transformation, linking psychological inner worlds with material form.
